The Labour Party has made a bold statement: President Bola Tinubu must go in 2027. The party says Nigerians are tired of the current government and ready for real change.
Speaking at a press conference in Abeokuta, Ogun State, the Labour Party Chairman in the state, Chief Samuel Olaolu, said the APC-led government has failed the people.
Nigerians are fed up with insecurity, hunger, and a poor economy, Olaolu said. They are waiting for 2027 to vote the APC out.
Labour Party Says It’s Ready to Lead
Chief Olaolu said the Labour Party is now stronger than ever. He praised the Supreme Court’s decision that confirmed Senator Nenadi Usman as the party’s caretaker leader.
The court’s ruling saved the party. Now, the Labour Party is the only strong opposition in Nigeria, he said.
He added that other opposition parties, like the PDP, are no longer united. Many of their members are now joining the Labour Party.
2023 Election Was Just the Beginning
Olaolu recalled how people underestimated the Labour Party in 2023. Yet, the party still got over 6 million votes in the presidential election.
They called us poor people tweeting online. But we shocked them with millions of votes, he said. In 2027, we will get more than 18 million votes.
A Plan for a Better Nigeria
The Labour Party says it is ready to fix the economy, end insecurity, and bring unity to the country.
Nigerians want a new kind of leadership. The Labour Party is ready to deliver it, Olaolu said. We are not just talking. We are preparing to take over.
Building a Stronger Party
Olaolu also said the party is now focused on growth and unity. With new leadership in place, they want to include all members and build a strong structure.
We are ready to welcome new members. We are united and ready for the challenge, he added.
