IP Scanners
IP scanners are tools for scanning and monitoring your network. Administrators use them to discover and remotely manage network devices.
How to use IP Scanners for network reconnaissance.
Step 1:
Download the following IP scanner: https://www.advanced-ip-scanner.com/
Step 2:
Double-click the downloaded file and follow the installation steps outlined in the figures.
Step 3:
This will scan the network for all connected devices. It displays IP and MAC addresses for each device.
Enter your subnet range in the designated space. If you don’t know the range, simply press the scan button.
After the scan, the network nodes will be listed, including their MAC and IP addresses.
Step 4:
This tool enables remote management of any of these devices. To accomplish this, simply choose the device you want to administer. Installing Radmin will provide you control over other network devices. Click yes to install it.
To control a network device, a Radmin server must be operating on it.
This utility allows administrators to take full or read-only control of a networked device, connect via Telnet, transfer files, shut down the device, and communicate by text or voice.
This utility helps network administrators manage devices and detect rogue devices on their network.
Step 5:
IP scanners can also be installed on Linux. The most popular option is Angry IP Scanner (ipscan). This open-source tool has the same capabilities as the IP Scanner mentioned above. Download it for Windows, Mac, and Linux from the URL below.
