Ado LG Chairman Oche Sunny Vows to Appeal Tribunal Ruling
April 14, 2025 – Abuja
In a dramatic tribunal ruling, Hon. Engr. Oche Sunday, the Executive Chairman of Ado Local Government, has vowed to appeal the recent tribunal ruling. He called the decision unjust and unfair, claiming it ignores the will of the people who elected him during the October 5, 2024 Benue State Local Government elections.
The Benue State Local Government Elections Petition Tribunal, which sat at the NBA House in Abuja, delivered the ruling. Oche strongly disagreed with the decision, stating that it disregards the voice of the people who voted overwhelmingly for him in the elections organized by the Benue State Independent Electoral Commission (BSIEC).
In a statement following the ruling, Engr. Oche reaffirmed his position as the duly elected Chairman of Ado Local Government. He expressed full confidence in the judiciary system and announced plans to appeal the tribunal’s decision.
“This verdict does not reflect the will of the people. I am confident the appellate court will correct this injustice and uphold the people’s mandate,” Oche stated.
Despite the setback, Oche remains hopeful. He thanked the people of Ado LG for their continued support and loyalty. He also urged them to stay calm and united.
“Let’s stand together. Our voices were heard on election day, and I trust the appellate court will reaffirm those voices,” he said.
With the case now heading to the appellate court, all eyes are on the next chapter in this ongoing political saga. Will justice prevail? Stay tuned.
